A LARK IN THE PARK

This look is a mix of formal and casual elements. There is a sense of formality with the tailored look of the suit but the flowy and semi-sheer shirt and graphic detail on the suit adds a more casual feel.
This particular style dynamic was inspired by the film, Barefoot in the Park (1967). The movie is centered on a young couple: a free-spirited woman and an uptight man. In the end of the film the man learns to let loose and live a little. With this outfit I wanted there to be some stiff and flowy elements. The flowy, colorful shirt is a nice contrast to the stark white and crispness of the suit.
The fabrication and colors of the shirt was inspired by Claude Monet's painting Landscape: The Parc Monceau. I wanted something that had a painting-like texture and featured rich greens. Also, pieces of the painting are part of the graphic on the back of the suit jacket. (See additional designs stemming from this inspiration here.)
