Born in China and adopted at ten months old, Alyssa was brought home to Connecticut where her parents encouraged her love of art and creativity. It was photos from fashion magazines that her mom shared with her that exposed her to the art of fashion. It was in high school where, as an introverted person, Alyssa found clothes as a necessary form of personal expression. It was this and her fondness of drawing clothing that made her realize how much she wanted to pursue a career in fashion. With a presidential, merit-based scholarship, she is majoring in fashion at Pratt Institute. At Pratt, she is working towards designing clothes that will encourage people to embrace their sense of individualism and enable them to go through their day confident.
